Attendence
Excellent attendance leads to excellent progress and achievements
Aim for 100% attendance
To achieve your best you must be on time and in school on a school day unless there is a valid reason
- Be on time for registration
- Go straight to your lesson and be punctual
Arriving late with no reason will mean a detention
If ill please ask:
- your parent/carer to telephone school that morning, (if possible by 9.00am)
- if this is not possible, bring a letter when you return, or complete an absence slip in your planner on pages 9,10 and 11 explaining your absence
If you know beforehand that you are going to be away from school, please bring an appointment card or a letter for your Form Tutor giving the reasons and dates
Remember your Form Tutor and the attendance coordinator will investigate unexplained absences. This can lead to you being placed on a persistent absence list, involvement with the Educational Welfare Service, £50 fixed penalty fines and ultimately parents being sent to court and fined at least £100
- There is not an automatic right to take holidays during term time, we will only authorise 10 days out of school during the entire year if attendance is above 90%
- Parents should contact school for a Holiday Permission Form
- Time out of school means a break in learning, affecting your achievement
- Attendance falls to 85% by taking a two week family holiday in term time
